LA casinos see a drop in revenues
Louisiana's state-licensed casinos experienced lower revenues for August 2011 than the did in August 2010, and all had lower revenues than they did in July.
The total revenue for Harrah's casino at New orleans, 4 slot machine operations at horse tracks and the 13 riverboat casinos as $185.5 million, compared to $193.4 million for August 2010 and $224.3 million in July 2011.

Nevada casino winnings increase 3.7 % in July
CARSON CITY, Nev. -- Nevada casinos won $860 million in July, a 3.7 percent gain compared with the same month last year, as the state's biggest gambling markets showed small improvements from a year ago, state regulators reported Monday.
A report by the Nevada Gaming Control Board said July marked the third month of consecutive increases for the industry that saw deep, double-digit declines in the aftermath of the Great Recession.
